What is this thing called Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recover

Family's United

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ Centered 12 step program which has incorporated the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous into our program.  Please do not confuse this program however with any other 12 step group, for unlike most other such programs, we have identified our Higher Power as Jesus Christ.  He is our Lord and Savior.

Celebrate Recovery began at Saddleback Church in California about 15 years and has now spread to over 4000 local churches throughout the United States and many foreign countries.  This program has been instrumental as God has used his transforming power to heal literally thousands of people from their hurts habits and hang ups as we like to say in Celebrate Recovery.

If you have issues that continue to cause you problems and doubting if you will ever be able to overcome your difficulties, then let us suggest that you give this program a try.

Celebrate recovery is probably more than you think it is. Simply put, we are a group of individuals seeking spiritual help in living through and above, what life throws at us. We have members who are finding freedom from  drug and alcohol addictions.   But we have many others who are dealing with anger, childhood abuse, adult abuse, codependency, divorce, sexual addictions, anxiety, tobacco addictions, eating problems, loss of loved ones, and other problems.

In order to find healing, we must first recognize that we are powerless to fix ourselves.  Secondly we realize that only a personal, deep and profound relationship with Jesus Christ is our answer.  And thirdly we seek to form a real and personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.  Those are the first 3 steps of recovery.

Applying then the remaining steps to our lives, we find ways to surrender our self will to Christ’s care and control so that God can come in and make the lasting changes in our lives. Through God’s grace and power we learn how to deal with life, rather than being controlled by it’s circumstances.

We are not here to “fix” anyone, but through sharing our own experiences, we love, support, encourage and guide each other along our journey through the 12 steps of recovery.  Our leaders are not teachers in the ordinary sense of the word, but instead learners among learners who willingly share their experiences in order to help you grow and change.   We have members with astounding success stories who with God’s help have miraculously risen above life’s trials and tribulations.

You will quickly realize that your problems are not unique as you hear others tell how they have overcome their difficulties.  We are not here to preach and tell you what you need to do, but instead share what we have done.

Confidentiality is a basic requirement in our meetings.  We have a saying that describes it well.  Who you see here, what you hear here, when you leave here, let it stay here!

We strongly encourage you to come join us.  You are sure to meet some new lifelong friends, and be a part of what God is doing through this ministry.  God is truly changing the lives as we Celebrate Recovery!
